Greedfall brings you an era rarely seen in video games

Greedfall is the type of game that arrives out of nowhere but it will immerse you in a very detailed and downright amazing game world. Right from the start you will notice that this is a blend of fantasy and 17th century action. That’s an era you rarely see in videogames, so that alone makes this title very special to begin with. But things are only getting better, as the game does try to push the boundaries and come up with some rather cool options and ideas right off the bat.

Greedfall

The story is simple, you set foot on an island that’s full of magic and you want to figure out what is going on. But then you figure out there are ancient powers at play and all that stuff really ends up being a major challenge. Which is what makes Greedfall such a good title in the first place. It encourages you to explore the world and do everything in your power as you become better and better at exploring this location and enjoying all the possible challenges that can arise.

That being said, Greedfall is an RPG at its core and it does bring in front some pretty interesting ideas. It’s refreshing as it is interesting and it helps push the boundaries while also bringing in some creative aspects into the mix too.

You can fully customize your character and you can easily choose what abilities you want to expand upon. The customization is fair, there’s not a huge amount of depth, but the skills themselves are actually very interesting. You always find something nice and quirky, and at the same time you’re not that limited to something in particular. It just encourages you to do it and explore all the unique places while also not being overly limited.

It’s even possible to acquire magic powers and eventually use them as you go along. The game is all about trying out things and also expanding on the powers you have too. That’s the thing that really matters in a title like this, how you explore the current skill set while also being able to enjoy. There’s stealth too, you can also focus on diplomacy, combat or whatever option suits your needs. What’s really nice in this game is that it constantly offers you options and then you choose what suits your needs the most. It’s unique and fun but also quite demanding at times.

Greedfall is all about exploring historical locations with a fantasy perspective. It does a very good job with that but at the same time it retains the creative and fun aspects while also bringing in some unique gameplay ideas too. If you are passionate about this genre you will find Greedfall to be rather refreshing. And even if you’re not into RPGs, you will find this game to give a lot of great gameplay. The story is refreshing and you also have a massive world to explore. Plus, you get to express yourself through your character, changing his looks and capabilities as you go along!

Bottom Line

Gameplay - 9.8
Graphics - 9.7
Art - 10
Music - 8.7

Greedfall is all about exploring historical locations with a fantasy perspective. It does a very good job with that but at the same time it retains the creative and fun aspects while also bringing in some unique gameplay ideas too.
