Why do I hate it, you ask? Is it because God of War sucks? Is it because the soundtrack is too epic for my sensitive ears? Maybe my eyeballs are hemorrhaging too much due to the graphics?
Perhaps God of War sucks. But… Well, by most accounts, God of War is a really, really impressive.

Set in a new mythological realm, the settings are fresh but familiar, as is the combat and gameplay. The plot also reaches new ground with the simplicity and grace of honoring Kratos’ wife’s final wish. IGN reports that God of War offers about 25 hours of gameplay with “terrifying threats.” Not too shabby. All the trailers, videos and reviews I’ve seen for God of War promise me that it is a work of art or a masterpiece or definitely worth playing.
Yet for me, God of War sucks. Because I’ll never play it.
As of this writing a new Playstation 4 goes for about $250 USD. Plus the game, like so many other new AAA titles, goes for $60. And not that I don’t have $310 laying around, it’s just that I don’t want to spend it. I’ve sunk plenty of money into my custom PC. And the idea of buying a new console for each exclusive title I want to play makes me sad inside. I can’t buy them all, and I don’t want to choose!
Nintendo did it first. I was a Nintendo fanboy from early childhood. When the Sega Genesis forced us all to pick sides, I stuck by my system. And The Legend of Zelda, Mario World and countless RPGs made me feel fully validated in my decision.
But today it seems that every console, every gaming platform has its own exclusives that beg players to pick them over the competition. Which makes total sense from a business perspective. But as a player, it feels crappy to be given an ultimatum. We wouldn’t put up with it from our friends, right? A friend that says, “If you want to hang out with me, you can’t be friends with Microsoft” is a bad friend. I want to play Gears of War AND God of War AND Zelda And, um… whatever PC exclusives still exist. But I don’t want to have to buy all the systems.
I can’t afford it. And I shouldn’t have to.
So instead, I stick by my system: the trusty ol’ PC.
And God of War? Well, God of War sucks. Because I can’t play it.
Haha. You got me. Sorry you don’t have a PS4 🙂 MY excuse is that I don’t have time to play it right now, which frankly, is even worse…
Oh no, time is a hot commodity. Too many games to play, even in 65 million years.
From one T-Rex to another, I’m sad you would encourrage this kind of clickbait. Indywatch is pretty good, but articles like this I wonder why.
This article is pure clickbait! This author is a turd who is desperate for some traffic. It makes me want to cry like a sissy.
